Westchester Magazine’s Burger & Beer Blast was not to be missed.
Westchester County residents came out on a beautiful night to have some burgers, beer and had a blast!
Westchester Residents voted for their favorite burger from a variety of choices. Participants included: Dan Rooney’s Cafe & Bar, Pinch-American Grill,
Le Jardin du Roi, MP Taverna, Thyme, 42 Restaurant, Palomino/Sonora, Good Life Gourmet, AJ’s Burgers, Cedar Street Grill, 105-Ten Bar & Grill, Coals, Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, Emma’s Ale House, Wayback Burgers, Village Social, X2O, Slovenia Vodka, Peekskill Brewery, Rye Roadhouse, Crabtree Kittle House, Westchester Burger Co, Birdsall House, and Memphis Mae’s.
Vendors were present at the burger & beer blast to promote their businesses such as Verizon, Cross County Shopping Center, Zachy’s, Frannie’s Goodie Shop-( And Frannie was there too!), David Lerner Associates, Pamal Broadcasting, Party Line Tent Rentals, Upper Cervical Chiropractic, Manhattan Beer, Doc James, and Friends of Westchester County Parks.
Friends of Westchester County Parks volunteer, Glenn Pacchiana stated, “I believe in preserving and giving back to the community.”
Logan and Samantha Irons of Mamaroneck came to the burger & beer blast because they thought it would be fun. Logan stated that he loves beer and Samantha loves burgers. Their favorite burgers were the short rib burger with bacon jam, blue cheese pickled onion and chipolte aioli from the Peekskill Brewery and the tuna burger from X2O. Samantha said,”Of course we frequent X2O.”
Tom McCaffrey from South Salem and Yon Burke from Rego Park , Queens came to the burger & beer blast because they said,”It’s a great event and we are having a good tim.” Yon’s favorite burger was the Coals Burger, which is homemade duck, bacon, brie, red chile jam and baby arugula. Tom’s favorite burger was from 105-Ten Bar & Grill, which is a slider with brie cheese, bacon jam and truffle aioli.
Michelle Cory of Hawthorne enjoyed the Crabtree’s Kittle House 60 Day dry-aged sirloin burger with a mountain smokehouse apple wood bacon jam, Adirondack Cheese Company cheddar on a Tom Cat Pretzel Roll. Why did Michelle like this one? ” I like the Pretzel Bun.” Michelle said that the beverages from Zachy’s and Blue Moon were enjoyable too.
Michelle Artoglou of Eastchester liked the White Peach Sangria and her favorite burger was the Mae’s Burger from Memphis Mae’s, which was BBQ rubbed sirloin burger with pulled pork, fried onions, Montrey jack cheese and pecan smoked bacon served with lettuce, tomato on a brioche bun. When asked why she came tonight? Michelle said, “We came last year and we had a great time.” Michelle and her brother Chris are owners of Papas Gold City and are advertisers of Westchester Magazine.
The winner was X2O-Xaviars on the Hudson, which is located in Yonkers. X2O’s burger was a crispy tuna burger with black sesame seeds, wasabi mayo and caramelized soy on a brioche bun. X2O -Xaviars on the Hudson is owned by renowned Chef Peter Kelly.
Mary C and the Stellars played a variety of rock, pop and soul music.
Everyone enjoyed the music and was dancing.
